Thomas C. Jenkins, 73, of McConnelsville passed away February 16, 2026 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. He was born October 15, 1952 in Zanesville a son of the late, David Jenkins and Lyra Ross Jenkins. Tom worked at Ohio Ferro Alloy from 1971-1981. Tom served as a captain for the McConnelsville Police Dept. from 1981-1997. He was the Morgan County Sheriff from 1997-2017. Tom served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era. Tom was a member of the National Sheriff's Assoc., The Buckeye State Sheriff's Assoc., Americal Legion Post#24 Honor Guard, VFW Post #4713, Fraternal Order of Eagles #2187, Chairman of the Morgan County Republican Central Committee, Masonic Lodge #145 of Malta, Aladdin Shrine of Cambridge, Morgan County Historical Society, and the Church of the Gospel Ministry of McConnelsville. Tom married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Shuster on April 3, 1971. He is also survived by a daughter, Angela (Jeff) McInturf; two sons, Tom Jr. (Jonna) Jenkins and Mark (Amanda) Jenkins; grandchildren, Nathan Bowen, Alissa (Tyler) Coleman, Brittany (Ethan) Work, Katelynn (Gregg) McKinstry, Ashley (Nathan) Baum, Zach (Miranda) Jenkins, David Jenkins; great grandchildren, Wade, Evie, and Ada Coleman, Orin and Arlo Work, Kai, Niah, Mirah McKinstry, Ranson and Altamae Baum, Theodore Jenkins. Also surviving are step grandchildren, Darah (Frank) Newell and Caitlin (Zach) Swendryck; step great grandchildren, Atticus Baum, Layne Swendryck, Sephia and Lily Martin; a brother, Bill Jenkins; brothers-in-law, Don, Bill, and Richard Shuster; sisters-in-law, Cindy Shuster, Martha Shuster, and Marlene Shuster. Calling hours will be Friday, February 20, 2026 from 1-5 p.m., at the Church of the Gospel Ministry with a masonic service at 5:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 11 a.m., at the church with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. Military honors will follow the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #24 Honor Guard or to the M. & M. Fire Dept. EMS. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
